As a photographer, one of my favorite subjects is birds. All kinds of birds. Seagulls, ducks, geese, egrets, coots, flamingos, herons, sparrows, crows, woodpeckers, jays and even vultures! My love of birds is why I now own a 600MM lens. Here I am lugging it around!
I have two favorite places to take photos of birds. One is Morro Bay. But Morro Bay is 3 hours away from where I live. A closer spot is just 20 minutes away. That is Balboa Lake in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. There, a man- made lake attracts birds of all kinds. We never know what birds we will find when we visit. But we can always count on ducks and geese!
